Our Story

‘Sproutlets’ as an idea was primarily conceptualized by our Founder Mr. Tony K Jose, as a personal solution for his family crisis – the need for safe and healthy baby food while living in a metropolitan city.

Confused over the diverse baby food products available in the market and their authenticity, Tony and his better half took efforts in sourcing raw materials directly from their native place; where they had their own ancestral agricultural fields.

The fresh organic raw materials sourced from their native land along with the age-old recipes from the ancestral past gave birth to new healthy baby food that was loved not just by their own children, but also by the toddlers of their friends.

This unexpected acceptance within their close circle of friends made Tony and his spouse consider the prospect of mass-producing their own baby food with the intent of helping other working parents in different metro cities, and thus “Sproutlets” came into being.

Once we set forth our journey and as the production volume increased, sourcing the organic products became an issue at a point. Striving to resolve the crisis, Tony approached the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), from where he acquired the list of National Programme for Organic Production (NPOP)-certified farmers.

Later, our team visited the farms located at various locations such as Salem, Satyamangalam, Mandya – Organic Mandya (co op society of Organic farmers), Belgaum, Kolhapur, etc one after the other, and understood the significance of organic farming. Subsequently, when we finally acquired the sourcing of over 22+ superior quality organic raw materials, the whole purpose of the expedition was met, and it inspired us to plunge into the next phase of our growth.

The next matter of concern was related to the shelf-life. Ensuring a longer shelf life for Sproutlets products without using preservatives was indeed a challenge. A wet spoon or moisture also posed a threat to shelf-life. We innovated and introduced a whole new concept in packing – “One Sachet Per Baby Meal”.

Through this approach, our products are designed and packed to have multiple sachets with each of them having 15 gms of content – adequate enough to serve one meal for a baby. Organized finely in a paper tube container, the sealed sachets can be used according to one’s needs and is eco-friendly as well as travel-friendly.

The three varieties of Sproutlet products that have been introduced in the market as of now are Sathu Maavu, Sprouted Ragi, and Powdered Banana – all three thoughtfully prepared to provide the benefits of millets, sprouts, and our age-old traditions.
